The Gallery room of The Lowry, Manchester needed to be branded for an event in ten days time. The customer (a band promoter) didn’t know what they wanted, just that they didn’t want white walls and wanted to promote the brand.
Due to the size and shape of the gallery, and the location of some of the artwork we were unable to obtain accurate sizes of the angular walls. A team was sent to measure the walls and the solution of a continuous 93m long banner was suggested.
This banner was designed with posters spanning the history of SJM Concerts at regular intervals with a brickwork effect behind to represent fly posting.
On the day of the event small removable scaffolding was first erected to reduce damage to the walls of the gallery, then the banner was attached to it via cable ties and cut to the finished size onsite.
